Dehradun police have arrested three persons on Saturday on the charge of committing thefts. Police recovered stolen items from their possession too. The accused have been identified as Nainsi, her husband Rohit Paul and her brother, said SP City Ajay Singh.
Police acted after Deepa, native of Himachal Pradesh, lodged a complainant in Dalanwala police station, saying that some miscreants had snatched ornaments, mobile phone and cash of Rs 6, 000 from her by brandishing a knife near Welham Girls’ School in Dalanwalaon Friday night.
Acting on the complaint, a case under appropriate sections of IPC was registered against the accused in Dalanwala police station on Saturday. Team, formed at police station, was on the lookout for the miscreants. .
Tipped that the miscreants were moving around Dalanwala, police arrested the trio. Grilled, Nainsi confessed the crime.
It was further learnt through interrogation that Nainsi and Deepa were nurses in a hospital. Nainsi had goaded Deepa to go a particular jewellery shop to purchase gold items on the day Dhanteras was celebrated. She had been with Deepa too. While they had been returning, her husband and brother snatched the ornaments bought and the cash Deepa was with her by brandishing a knife, interrogation revealed.
