On the day of Madhu Jayanti, also known as Swabhiman Divas, a body “The lawyer” was formed with the objective of celebrating the dignity of the profession of the lawyers and highlighting their importance to the society here.
It will be an apolitical organization and will work to create awareness among the young lawyers about the past glory and role of the lawyers in nation-building.
It would also observe birth and death anniversaries of senior and eminent lawyers; hold symposiums on topic relating to contemporary law; conduct annual day function and honor senior lawyers, legal luminaries across the State.
It would also teach the young lawyers how to become successful in profession; maintain high standard of ethics and fight cases fairly, fearlessly and effectively.
The office bearers are Maguni Charan Palai, president, Krushna Prasad Sahu, vice president, Prafulla Jagannath Padhi, general secretary, Sangram Keshari Dalai, joint secretary, laxmikanta Mohapatra, organisational secretary, Sunil Kumar Palai, co-ordinator, Sudip Sahu, media - in - charge and scribe Prasant Das.
