Bhopal Mayor Alok Sharma and BMC Chairman Surjeet Singh Chouhan inspected various areas of Shahpura, Trilanga, Gulmohar and Ishwar Nagar on Monday and instructed the officials to take strict action against those encroaching upon Government land.
The owner of Fusion Spice restaurant complained against local residents for having encroached upon nullah by constructing buildings on it.
Mayor Sharma and the chairman reached the spot and instructed the officials to check the building permissions and to take strict action against the encroacher.
The residents of the area near Chouka Chulha restaurant complained to the mayor that there is a problem of water logging in the area due to the illegal constructions on the nullah. Mayor himself measured the nullah and the road with the inch-tape. He summoned the City Planner Suneeta Singh and directed to minutely check the documents and building permission of the building and submit a report to him before Tuesday evening.
Mayor directed the officials to investigate the permission of Jeevan Anand Complex. The Mayor also instructed the officials to remove the encroachment of a scrap shop near Albert Ekka Vihar.
Additional Commissioners Chandra Mauli Shukla and GP Mali, City Engineer GS Saluja, Zone chairman Babulal Yadav, Corporator Sushma Bawisa along with other officials remained present during the inspection.
Meanwhile, Mayor Alok Sharma and Chairman Surjeet Singh Chouhan inspected the Shahpura crematorium and instructed the officials to prepare action plan to upgrade the crematorium into a modern one. Sharma and Chouhan reached the Shahpura crematorium in the morning on Tuesday.
Mayor instructed the officials to facilitate the crematorium with the electric crematorium, condolence hall, drinking water and pathway facilities. He also instructed the officials to prepare a lumber store and develop a place to store cow dung. He ordered the officers to examine the land of crematorium and demarcation of the land.
