Sunday, 31 July 2016 | PNS | ANGUL

The Aama Odisha Party (AOP) on Saturday condemned political violence ensued at Angul in which BJP workers were allegedly beaten up by BJD activists and SP Kavit Jalan sustained injuries during Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister

Sanjay Dasburma to the district.

The Minister attended a demonstration organised by the Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) against construction of barrages in the upper catchment of Mahanadi by Chhattisgarh Government.

“History has time and again proven that use of violence has never led to any solution. If political

violence is not stopped soon, it will not be too far into the future when the general public of Odisha will give a befitting reply to the political parties, who patronage goons and encourage violence,” said AOP’s Suparno Satpathy in a statement.

The AOP appealed to the leaders of both the BJP and the BJD to refrain their carders from resorting to violence.

The party too wished the SP a speedy recovery from her injuries.
