In a joint eviction drive undertaken by the BMC, BDA and the Commissionerate police, many illegal structures around IG Park, Jaydev Bhawan and AG Square were demolished on Tuesday.
A total of seven wooden cabins, two extended sheds (10’ x 25’), one thatched house, one tea stall and one advertisement hoarding were demolished. The eviction drive was undertaken ahead of the Winter Session of the State Assembly. The drive was conducted by BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Patro,
liaison Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty and police officers of the Capital police station. One platoons of gents APR Force was also present to maintain law and order during the eviction drive.
