Himachal CM Virbhadra Singh on Wednesday said that strict action would be taken if the teachers don't join remote and far flung areas for duty.

Addressing a public meeting at Samej in Pandra-Beesh area of Shimla district, the chief minister said, “Directions had been issued either to join at the place of posting or give resignation”.

He urged the young teachers to serve in remote and far flung areas as the people needed their services, adding that it was also a fact that the teachers who serve in such areas were held in high esteem and respected by people.

After inaugurating Primary Health Centre Building at Samej completed with an outlay of `83 lakh, Virbhadra Singh said that he was well acquainted with Pandra-Beesh region and even those times when there were no roads, he had visited each and every village of this area. He also announced inauguration of newly constructed building of senior secondary school, Samej and directed to raise a boundary wall around the school.

later, while addressing a gathering at Jeuri, Virbhadra Singh paid tributes to those martyrs who lost their lives while constructing Hindustan-Tibet road. He said that the ground where public meeting was being organised, should be visited by all, at-least once in a year to pay tributes to those martyrs whose names were inscribed on Pillars behind the stage (Veerta Dwar) who lost their lives while constructing the road.

He also reiterated the need of preservation of culture and customs and said that the younger generations should not feel ashamed to speak in their own language.
