Stop transfer of press club property: CM

Wednesday, 31 August 2016 | PNS | Dehradun

Chief Minister Harish Rawat ordered a stop in the procedure being facilitated regarding the case of Uttaranchal Press Club canteen property being transferred to a particular individual as free-hold land.

Receiving a delegation of media persons, the chief minister issued an order to Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority vice chairman R Meenakshi Sundaram to this effect. Meanwhile, expressing strong objection to purported involvement of cabinet minister Indira Hridayesh in the case, members of the journalistic fraternity burnt the minister in effigy. It was decided that after collecting the relevant facts and information, the Congress president Sonia Gandhi will also be informed about the cabinet minister's role in attempts to dispose of land allotted to the press club in the name of an individual as a free-hold property.
