To train local youths in self employment courses, the Swami Ram Himalayan University (SRHU) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infrastructure leasing and Financial Services (IlFS) limited.
The MOU was signed by the Vice-president of IlFS Sanjeev Nayak and Vice-Chancellor (VC) of SRHU, Dr Vijay Dhasmana on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Nayak said that IlFS is working across India for the youths aiming at giving them adequate technical skills, which in turn will help them to fetch their livelihoods.
The project is being undertaken under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna. He said that the by associating with SRHU, the youth of remote area of Garhwal will be benefitted immensely. Nayak informed that IlFS and SRHU through research and development will develop programmes keeping in mind the situation of Garhwal region.
The VC of SRHU, Dr Dhasmana said Uttarakhand is a hill state and has lot of opportunity in tourism sector. He said that the university should train youth of Uttarakhand for Himalayan Panchkarma as it has an Ayurvedic panckarma center.
