Special patrolling parties for New Year's Eve in city

Special patrolling parties would be deployed and checking points would be established in different parts of the city on the eve New Year for maintaining law and order.

SP Bhopal (North) Arvind Saxena said that 36 checking points have been made and 24 special patrolling parties have been assigned to vigil at places where parties are organised and areas prone for mischievous activities.

Party venues would be strictly monitored to provide secure atmosphere for enjoying New Year eve celebrations, he added. Markets would be closed till the allowed time by 11 pm. Special attention would be paid on closing of the liquor shops on time.

SP Bhopal South Siddhartha Bahuguna said that in joint effort with traffic police checking would be conducted to ensure that citizens would enjoy New Year celebrations safely and happily.

Arrangement of videography has been made on the eve of New Year. Additional vehicles for patrolling would be arranged for maintaining law and order.

These vehicles would be stationed at police stations, he added.

Breath analyzers would be used to identify and nab errant tipplers who could create nuisance and harm other commuters. Misrod, Govindpura and MP Nagar sub divisions would be deployed with additional force and Public Announcement (PA) systems would used to manage traffic and maintain traffic.

Public places and open spaces where anti-social elements could create trouble would be patrolled and deployed with additional police personnel.

Search at hotels, railway stations and bus stands have been done and would be conducted.
