With the aim to create Government linkages with the civil society and enhance the knowledge for development a day-long Social Media for Empowerment workshop was organised for various stakeholders at Bokaro on Wednesday.
Workshop was organised by Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) and Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) and supported by District Administration Bokaro.
Addressing to the workshop Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Rai Mahimapat Ray shared his view on the efficacy of the fast emerging social media and elaborated its significance which has rattled the development and empowerment of the community.
Several case study and advanced best practices of social media were also deliberated in the workshop. Beside others representatives of many NGOs, CBOs, SHGs and youth clubs were attended the workshop.
This workshop can improve communication, deliver constituent services, optimise existing processes, enable new services, organise interest groups, said a DEF official.
“We basically try to create awareness about the benefits of social media tools and good practices in the field of social media and improve engagement, accessibility and connect the last mile individuals to the masses through social media workshop”, he added.
Such workshop provides opportunity to gain knowledge and awareness about all the social media platforms which help individuals to build the social relationship network, he said.
