The Government while following its film policy unrolled some time ago has started the process to make available grants to seven films coming up as per it. Several committees related to the Film Technical Advisory Committee met on Thursday and has recommended for the grants.
The films selected under the policy are of Hindi, Santhali, Khortha and Bhojpuri. This apart, 15 other proposals were also considered and in-principal there was consensus on providing grants to those as well.
The committees would meet again on October 4 in which other proposals would be taken into consideration. After the policy come into fore eminent artists from Mumbai and also local filmmakers have shown interest in shooting in the State.
