Engineers of UP State Bridge Corporation, better known as Setu Nigam, are up in arms over the insult of a senior engineer by Minority Affairs minister Azam Khan in Rampur on June 25.
Hundreds of Setu Nigam engineers demonstrated at the lucknow headquarters on Wednesday and sported black badges to protest the humiliation of their colleague by the minister.
Setu Abhiyanta Association chief Ashok Tiwari said that the engineers want action against the minister, who is in the habit of insulting officials.
“We would be forced to go on a strike if the management of the Corporation fails to redress our grievances," Tiwari said in a statement issued in lucknow on Wednesday.
The Abhiyanta Association also submitted a memorandum to the Managing Director of the Corporation.
On June 25, Azam Khan allegedly insulted Deputy Project Manager of the Setu Nigam RK Agarwal during an inspection of a under construction flyover in Rampur.
