Rs 50,000 jewellery burgled in Vandana Nagar

Gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 50,000 were burgled from Vandana Nagar under Kolar police station area on Thursday.

A complaint was lodged with the police and in the complaint victim claimed that he along with his family had gone to attend a marriage in the evening on Thursday and after the marriage when they returned in the wee hours on Friday the locks were found missing and on entering the house it was found ransacked.

Victim claimed that Gold chain, a pair of silver anklets and Rs 4000 cash was found missing.

 The total loss in the

 burglary is around Rs 50000. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police registered a case under section 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started

 further investigation.

Important documents including bank pass book and vehicle registration

number of the victim and his family were also found

missing in the burglary. The almirah having valuables was found broken.

The victim works with private company.

Police said that the

neighbours, domestic help and security guards of the vicinity would be questioned which could help in the investigation.

 The burglary took place within short period of time which suggests that the

miscreants were aware of the whereabouts of the victim.
