Minister for School Education Kunwar Vijay Shah said that Olympic bronze medal winner Sakshi Malik will be invited to National School Wrestling Competition commencing on November 1 in Khandwa. Rupees 25 lakh, announced by the State Government will be presented to Sakshi Malik. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be present at the programme. School Education Minister Kunwar Shah was addressing players participating in 62nd State level School Free Style Wrestling Competition in Khandwa on Wednesday.
The School Education Minister said that consideration is underway to develop Malhar Ashram of Indore as a sports university.
He said that the sports university will be developed in the premises sprawling in 32 acre by spending Rs 100 crore.
Students from class first to fifth will be imparted training in games of their choice in the university. Students from VI to XII will be further given training in the sports university to be set up in Malhar Ashram of Indore for high-level training for international and national competitions.
Training facility will be available for 500 players in the sports university.
School education minister said that vacant posts of music and sports teachers will be filled up soon.
Efforts will be made to change recruitment rules for sports teachers, so that players performing excellently state and national level could get recruited.
Five-day state-level free style wrestling competition is being held in Khandwa between September 26 and 30. Players of age 14-19 years in boys category and 19 years in girls category are participating in the competition. Twenty eight players are participating from one division.
