After the Centre stopped providing BRGF assistances, the State Government has extended the Gopabandhu Gramin Yojana (GGY) to the concerned districts by enhancing Budget allocations, informed Finance Minister Pradip Kumar Amat in the State Assembly on Monday.
Replying to a question of BJD MlA Ranendra Pratap Swain and supplementary questions put by other members, including leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra, the Minister said a total of Rs 650 crore, including Rs 225 crore in main Budget and Rs 425 crore in supplementary Budget, was allocated during the current year and, it has been enhanced to Rs 1,000 crore for 2016-17.
Amat said the Government has taken many initiatives to lessen regional imbalance in the State. Amat said the State Government has lost Central assistances as per recommendation of the 14 th Finance Commission recommendations in 2015-16.
The State had received total Central assistances of Rs 40,798.32 crore during the 12 th Finance Commission period from 2005-06 to 2009-10 and Rs 75,552.83 crore during the 13 th Finance Commission period from 2010-11 to 2014-15. Besides, the State had received incentive of Rs 18.95 crore for reduction in the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Rs 38.10 crore for Grid Connected Renewable Energy during the 13 th FC period. The State received Rs 23,787.57 crore by March 21 during the current fiscal 2015-16 as per the 14th Finance Commission recommendations, Amat said.
