Raman steps into Sukma's Bhejji village in extreme red zone

A determined Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh who has chosen to walk into the remotest villages on surprise visits this time round in the extreme red zones in Bastar during the second day of lok Suraj Mission on Friday reached Bejji village in Konta tehsil of Sukma district much to the surprise and delight of the villagers.

The villagers gave a traditional and heart-warming welcome to Singh on his arrival.

Interestingly, an elderly woman presented 'Mahua' and 'Tamarind' to the Chief Minister while other villagers offered coconut water to other senior officials accompanying the Chief Minister.

Singh while mingling with the villagers spoke to all the assembled gathering and said he is aware of their problems and grievances.

He assured them that he will provide all facilities to make them join the mainstream of society.

The Chief Minister promised them that the villages will be provided electricity within two years.

Singh said the villages will also be connected with roads, bridges and culverts  and high-quality education will be imparted to children so that they can become doctors and engineers. The cooperation of the villages and inhabitants is a must to develop the region, he said.

The Chief Minister distributed text-books free of cost to the children of the village and urged them to study hard. Chief Secretay Vivek Dhand and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Aman Kumar Singh were also present.

Earlier, Chief Minister Raman Singh inaugurated at state-level two major schemes 'Mukhyamantri Amrit Yojana' and 'Mukhyamantri Mahtari Jatan Yojana' for eradication of malnutrition from state, at a programme organized District Headquarters Sukma.

Singh inaugurated Mukhyamantri Amrit Yojana by serving milk to children. Under this scheme, nearly 8.50 lakh children of age group 3 to 6 years, enrolled in 50,000 Aanganbadis and mini Aanganbadi centres of the State, will be distributed nutritious flavoured milk every Monday.

Under Mukhyamantri Mahtari Jatan Yojana, pregnant women will be provided freshly-cooked nutritious meal at aanganbadi centres.

The State Government has provisioned Rs  25 crore each for both the schemes in the budget of fiscal year 2016-17. On the occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Ramsheela Sahu, MlA Kawasi lakhma, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Dugdh Mahasangh Rasik Parmar, Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Aman Kumar Singh were also present.

In the programme organized at Sukma, Chief Minister inaugurated and did bhumi pujan of various development works worth nearly Rs  40 crore.

Singh announced approval for renovation work of oldest government school of Sukma at the cost of Rs  1-1.5 crore.

The Chief Minister said in his address to the programme that after formation of new district, Sukma is on the track of fast paced development.

He said that under lok Suraj Mission, the Government is reaching remote villages to gather feedback and to know their expectation from Government. The Chief Minister said that State Government wants development in Naxal-affected areas.

The Government wants to build roads, bridges, schools, aanganbadi centres, in villages. It wants to provide electricity supply and education facility in every village, he said.

The State Government wants to provide facilities such as 108 Sanjeevani Express, 102 Mahtari Express, ration shops etc in every village. But a group of people is resisting development and destroying roads, bridges, schools and Aanganbadi buildings, Singh said.

He said : “ I want to make it clear to such people that State Government only wants development in the area so as to provide better future to upcoming generations. “The Chief Minister said that the Government has sufficient resources for development projects.

He told villagers about government's plan to launch special campaign for free distribution of B-1, Khasra and Map copies to forest dwellers during the next two years.

Singh also gave information about lED Bulb Distribution Scheme under which BPl category consumers will be provided three lED bulbs of nine watt for free. Talking about recently declared results of Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, he said that children from Sukma district have secured position in merit list successfully. 

He added that Sukma is being developed as important centre of education so that the students here may grow up to serve the nation as doctors, engineers, Collectors, SP and on other higher administrative posts. On the occasion, public representatives and large number of citizens were present.
