After hot and humid day, thundery activities and rain provided relief to the citizens on Tuesday evening. Heavy rainfall occurred across the city in the evening and continued till late in the night.
Clear sky conditions prevailed in the day with bright sun light making the day temperature at discomforting levels. With the changed weather conditions, day temperature increased and was recorded at 31.3 degree celsius while the night temperature was recorded at 24.9 degree celsius. The day temperature was recorded above at 30 degree celsius among the major cities on Tuesday. Along with the day temperatures night temperatures have also increased and recorded above the normal temperature.
Gwalior recorded highest day temperature at 35.7 degree celsius among the major cities. Jabalpur recorded day temperature at 33.6 degree celsius and Indore recorded day temperature was recorded at 30.6 degree celsius. Highest rainfall was recorded in Jabalpur among the major cities at 3 cm of rainfall. Narsinghpur received 9 cm of rainfall, Seoni recorded 6 cm of rainfall, Kareli got 5 cm of rainfall, Tendukheda and Kewlari recorded 4 cm of rainfall, Dewas and Satna recorded 3 cm of rainfall each in the past 24 hours.
As per the forecast, Indore and Hoshangabad divisions and Chhindwara, Seoni, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Raisen, Sagar and Dewas divisions are likely to receive thunder showers and light rainfall. Under the changed pattern of weather few regions are still likely to receive heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours. The regions which are likely to receive heavy rainfall are Betul, Seoni, Chhindwara, Hoshangabad and Narsinghpur districts.
