To highlight the issues and problems being faced by small colleges in the State, Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) have launched a campaign to meet top leaders of ruling parties as well as opposition parties of Punjab in coming days. Afterwards, PUCA will also meet ministers of Central Government.
PUCA delegation would meet Delhi’s Chief Minister and AAP’s supremo Arvind Kejriwal on February 29. Recently, PUCA delegation met with the Technical Education Minister of Punjab.
It is pertinent that due to absence of regulatory body for private universities in Punjab, these universities are starting new courses day by day and giving admissions to students in bulk. As a result small colleges in state are at the verge of closure.
PUCA’s president Dr Anshu Kataria says, “Punjab government has promised many times to form regulatory body for private universities in state, till date no such regulatory body has been formed. Moreover Akali- BJP Government has given assurance many times in assembly regarding the formation of Regulatory Body.
z “If needed, “We’ll the knock the doors of High Court to save the Unaided Colleges,” said Kataria.
