The Paradip Port Stevedores’ Association (PPSA) has strongly objected to reports published in a section of the media about the “skewed representation” of the order of the Orissa High Court relating to the clearing, forwarding and handling (CFH) workers working at Paradip Port Trust (PPT) by Traffic Manager D Nayak and Odisha Motors managing director Pranakrushna Nayak.
PPSA secretary in a Press release alleged that Odisha Motors MD Pranakrishna Nayak has leveled false and baseless allegations against the PPSA and was bent upon destabilising the harmonious work atmosphere.
“On January 14 meeting, the PPSA had accepted to allow other port licenced stevedores to take membership in CFH scheme, 1994) and requested the port management to review the modalities for inducting new members in the scheme. We had followed up with PPT for closure of all pending litigation in various forums. Based on all these decisions arrived at the behest of PPSA, an affidavit was submitted by PPSA before the HC on February 25 requesting to close the matter. Based on the affidavit of PPSA the HC has disposed off the petition on February 26 accepting the contents of the affidavit of PPSA,”
But it was unfortunate that Odisha Motors MD Pranakrishna Nayak was deliberately creating disturbances by maligning the image of the PPSA through plotting false scenes and lodging fake FIRs to camouflage and create confusion in the minds of law and order authorities, stated the statement.
“He has gone to the extent of threatening some of the members of PPSA over telephone,” added the statement. The PPSA has also lodged a counter FIR.
