Police failure in nabbing murderer protested

Sunday, 31 January 2016 | PNS | ROURKELA

locals of Bargaon in Sundargarh district held a 12-hour bandh on Saturday protesting the failure of police in arresting the accused who had killed a local youth this month.

The locals also staged a protest in front of the Bargaon police station.

On January 4, police had recovered body of a youth from the Kantiamara Mukundapur road side. The youth was identified as Ramananda Seth (22), a native of the Bargaon area. His father Jogendra Seth, a retired constable, had lodged a complaint in Bargaon police station. Police have not yet found any clue about the culprits.

Getting annoyed with the police’s failure, locals along with Jogendra Seth gave a 12-hour bandh call on Saturday. All commercials establishments like shops, private offices, banks and also government offices like Block and Tehsil office were closed due to this bandh.

“Our investigation is on and the culprits of this murder case would be arrested soon,” said police sources.
