Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed appreciation for Uttarakhand achieving a position among the Indian States that have achieved the target set by the Government of India for solar pump programme.
Modi expressed this view while chairing a video conference to review proactive governance and timely implementation with the State’s Chief secretary Shatrughna Singh representing the State in the video-conference held on Wednesday. The PM sought information about the progress in Tapovan Vishnugad hydro electric project in Chamoli district. In reply, Singh said that this under construction 520 MW project costing Rs3,846 crore will provide power to north-Indian States. It will have four units with 130 MW capacity each, he added.
