Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions with Chief Secretaries of various States including Madhya Pradesh during 'PRAGATI' video-conferencing on Wednesday. In the video-conferencing, discussions were held on one rail project and one energy project of Madhya Pradesh.
The Prime Minister apprised himself of progress of Ratlam-Dongarpur (Via Banswara) rail project's implementation. Under the 189 km long project sanctioned in year 2011, 143 km long rail line is to be laid in Rajasthan and 46 kms in Madhya Pradesh. Rajasthan's Chief Secretary informed the Prime Minister about problems being experienced in project's implementation.
The Prime Minister directed Rajasthan's Chief Secretary and Chairman of Railway Board to ensure action on the project within a month.
The Prime Minister reviewed progress of under construction super thermal power project in Khargone district. CS DeSa informed that land has been acquired for the project and transferred to NTPC. Construction is in progress and is expected to be completed by March 2019. Sanction has been granted for 202 acres out of 223 acres land necessary for pipeline. Similarly, 72 acres out of 600 acres required for siding has been made available for land extension works. Acquisition of remaining land will be completed by July 31. Shri de Sa apprised the Prime Minister that railway siding work will be completed in next 2 months and approach road by November 2016. For Khandwa-Nimarkheri gauge conversion project, 45 acres land will be acquired and transferred to railways in next 2 months.
During video-conferencing, the Prime Minister stressed the need to create atmosphere in favour of consumer protection, promote to use of solar pumps for irrigation and drinking water schemes and undertake water conservation works on priority.
