'Play safe in evacuating people from border areas'

Friday, 30 September 2016 | PNS | Chandigarh

Due to the prevailing tension at Indo-Pak Border, political parties in Punjab on Thursday instructed their workers to help people in the border area who are in the process of moving out to other locations.

Punjab BJP chief Vijay Sampla called upon the party units of the border areas to jump into action and help the locals who are being been shifted to safer places in the wake of the high alert issued after the Indian Army after surgical strikes across the loC.

Sampla said party workers would ensure every possible help to the evacuated people so that they don’t face food and shelter related problems. “People in border villages are leaving their ancestral homes and property for their motherland. We should respect their sacrifice and serve them in this hour of need”, he said.

State Aam Aadmi party has launch a dedicated Help line Number  +91 8437-791773 for the purpose. State convener of AAP, Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi and MP Bhagwant Mann said that volunteers should overwhelmingly contribute to serve the people of Punjab. As people were being evacuating from the border areas, they are in dire need of the help and at this crucial movement, AAP is with the affected people, they added.

AAP leaders issued instructions to party volunteers to be ready with the first aid kits and make various groups and coordinate to reach people in case of any SOS from people.

Arrangements should be made to serve food not only to the people but to cattle also and even the volunteers should extend maximum cooperation to the soldiers on duty, who are working round the clock to save the nation.
