The education department has initiated the process of placement of selected Block Resource Persons (BRP) and Cluster Resource Persons (CRP) candidates in districts. However these posting would take place only in the vacant posts. The District Education Officers (DEO) are directed by the department to complete the process of posting of the selected BRP and CRP soon. To improve the quality of teaching the education department created a separate cadre of BRP and CRP and initiated a process of recruitment on 954 posts of BRP and 657 posts of CRP. The department planned to abolish existing posts of BRC and CRC but this move was opposed by the powerful organization of primary teachers, the PSS. The cadre of BRP and CRP brought two biggest teachers organizations, the PSS and RSS at loggerheads. The impasse continued for two years later the High Court intervened and asked the department to release the list of selected candidates. Under pressure from PSS, the department is treading cautiously and only giving posting to about 650 BRP and CRP only on vacant posts.
