Demanding hike in salary and other facilities, the Government employees, Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Sachiv Association are staging dharna for the past three days.
The Sachivs and Sarpanchs of 23000 panchayats are taking part in the State-level agitation near the Collector’s office, Bhopal.
While talking to ‘The Pioneer’ here on Friday, Association’s Media In-charge Parwat Singh Bharati told that the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Central Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and state Panchayat Minister Gopal Bhargava had assured the association that the 14-point demands of the association would be fulfilled but the government took no action on the demands.
Bharati demanded that the sixth pay commission would be provided to the panchayat sachivs alike assistant teachers. The provision of appointment on compassionate ground should be implanted. Pension and scheme should be started for the Panchayat sachivs alike the other government employees.
Bharati further demanded that the promotion scheme should be started for the sachivs while the salaries of the sachivs and sarpanchs should also be increased. Gram Panchayat should be freed from the interference of the Governmnet. The remuneration of the panchs should be increased to Rs 1000 while the salary of the sarpanchs should be increased to Rs 10,000 per month. The facility of group insurance should also be provided to the sachivs, he added.
Bharati further added that the government should fulfill the demands of the Panchayat sachivs and sarpanch. The state government had deceived the sarpanchs and the sachivs of the state. The association would not suspend its strike until the demands are met.
