Palamu police intercepted a public transportation and seized 1.5 quintal of dry poppy straw being smuggled from Panki to Chainpur said DSP Prabhat Ranjan Barwar on Saturday. Te four wheeler has been seized and its driver Naru arrested under various section of anti narcotics act added Barwar.
Giving details Barwar said the dry poppy straw were in five big jute bags and loaded on the top of a jeep like any other goods in such time of festivity but police were given a precise tip off about this and accordingly road checking was conducted in which this 5 bag laden four wheeler appeared which the cops searched only to find the contraband dry poppy straw.
