Sunday, 31 July 2016 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

The Odisha State Cooperative Bank (OSCB) has been nominated as a Member of the Committee constituted by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) for assessment of human resources of Short Term Cooperative Credit Structure (STCC) in the post of Cooperative Banks Environment.

Currently, the STCC, comprising 33 State Cooperative Banks and 370 Districts Central Co-operative Banks, is passing through a critical phase of transition. In the wake of new regulatory norms prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India and more particularly, adoption of CBS and IT enables products by Cooperative Banks, it is the utmost importance to have suitable manpower for effective delivery of banking products and services in the current scenario. The committee is likely to address this key concern.

The committee, constituted under chairmanship of Nabard Deputy Managing Director R Amalorpavanathan, would look into various aspects of human resources development in Cooperative Banks and also suggest measures to adopt a sound human resource policy.

OSCB Managing Director TK Panda has been nominated as Member of this Committee.

Apart from Odisha, Cooperative Banks of the States like UP, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana and Rajasthan have also been nominated as Members of the Committee.
