The CRPF, along with district police of Bokaro, Giridih and Dhanbad launched operation ‘Pralay’ to check the Naxal menace in these areas where outlawed CPI Maoist again proved their strong presence by pasting posters past days.
This decision was taken in a meeting headed by CRPF 26 battalion DIG Suresh Sharma and Coal belt DIG Saket Kumar Singh on Friday.
Operation ‘Pralay’ has been launched in Upparghat, Jhumra and lugu hillocks regions in Bokaro, Parasnath region of Giridih and Tundi and surroundings of Dhanbad district to flush out red rebels, informed police SP Bokaro.

Putting forces on toes naxal rebels pasted dozens of posters to prove their strong presence in these areas, sources said.
Other than the nocturnal meetings taking place in the rural segment in bordering areas of Bokaro, Giridih and Dhanbad districts, they are reported to have some grand plans to hold impressive flag marches as well, during which the Maoists would openly display their arsenal, sources said.
Meanwhile tough actions are taking place on a sudden rise in the maoists activities, as patrolling have been intensified. “The police have beefed up security in the naxal-infested areas across the district”, said SP Bokaro.
Notably, naxal rebels are active in 18 of the 24 districts of Jharkhand. Due to its geographical location ‘Jhumra’ and ‘lugu’ hillocks regions are still remembered as the breeding and training ground of CPI Maoists, were rebels are carrying all the naxal activities in Jharkhand.
