OHPC ex-officer's `1.76-cr assets confiscated

As per the direction of the Special Court here, Vigilance officers have confiscated disproportionate assets including movable and immovable properties to the tune of Rs 1,76,93,853 in possession of OHPC ltd ex-Deputy Manager (Finance) Dillip Kumar Mohanty.

Notably, Mohanty’s properties including hotel Ashraya at Puri, two buildings at Chandrasekharpur BDA Colony here and at Arilo under Cuttack Sadar, office room at Vani Vihar here and several plots at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack had been searched on December 28, 2014.

The Special Court Judge later had convicted Mohanty and his wife Krushnapriya on September 30, 2015.

While Mohanty was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10 lakh, his wife was sentenced to simple imprisonment for one year and a fine of Rs 50,000.
