Personnel Department Principal Secretary Nidhi Khare has written to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and HoDs to take action against officials who went on leave without giving application or without having them granted during the calendar year 2016, which ends on Saturday. She said in her letter that this practice was not only breach of civil code, but was also causing delay in expedition of public works. Khare has asked to provide list of those officials who have taken leaves adding Fridays and Mondays with Saturdays and Sundays. She said that it was observed that employees working in different departments go on leave without getting their applications approved. This has an adverse effect of Government work and the trend is against the model code of conduct.
