No headway in Anupam Nagar shooting case

Police seem to be clueless in the shootout incident that happened in posh Anupam Nagar locality in which a businessman was critically injured here on Thursday night.

“Police teams have been formed to investigate the case from every angle but as of now we do not have any shareable development,” Superintendent of Police (SP) Raipur, Sanjeev Shukla said.

Meanwhile, the condition of victim Praveen Nahta (34) was reported to be critical.

According to the police, Nahta runs a jewellery shop in Sadar Bazaar and was returning home on Thursday night on his scooter. He was carrying a bag and was intercepted by two youths near Anupam Nagar turning. The youth took Nahta on gun point and demanded his bag. However, Nahta refused to give the bag and in the scuffle which followed, the youth fired upon Nahta. Immediately after shoot out, the youths ran away on his scooter with the bag. later on, Nahta was rushed to a private hospital were his condition was reported to be critical.
