About 34 people from Khambesi, Jarapa, Serkapadi, Kesharpadi and Batudi villages under Sikapadar panchayat in the Niyamgiri hill met the district SP at his office for airing grievances on Wednesday.
They were led by Tella Karkaria of Sana Denginili, Purna Takiri of Dhaminipanga, Indra Sikoka of Serkapadi, Dunda Kuturuka of Kesharpadi and Duku Jakasika of Batudi. The grievances related to road communication, supply of electricity and borewells for drinking water, etc.
They submitted a memorandum to the SP Rayagada for formation of a new panchayat at Panimunda village so that they can get their PDS rations, old age and widow pension etc at the nearest place. The SP assured action at the earliest.
