Bankim Sharma, the only son of Cabinet Minister Navprabhat, died on Tuesday following a massive heart attack. He was rushed to the SK Memorial hospital located at EC Road where he breathed his last.
As the shocking news of the death of the Minister's son spread, a large number of people and party workers descended on the hospital. The grief- stricken family took the body of Bankim to his ancestral home in Vikasnagar in a State helicopter. A big crowd had gathered at the home of the Minister in Vikasnagar. Chief Minister Harish Rawat rushed to the ancestral home and expressed his condolences. The markets in Vikasnagar town were closed following the news.
Bankim was 33 years old and owned a hotel in Raiwala town. He was married last year. The funeral would take place at Shanti Dham in Vikasnagar on Wednesday.
Governor Dr K K Paul has expressed deep grief at his demise. In a message, the Governor has prayed for strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss and for peace for the departed soul.
