The Nari Utkal Bharat organised a workshop on women here on Saturday under chairmanship of its chairperson Banaja Basini Tripathy.
Utkal Bharat president Kharabela Swain inaugurated and workshop and gave his opinion on the subject ‘The present situation in Odisha’ debated on the occasion. He said while the State Government is promoting western language, culture and civilisation at the cost of Odia language and culture, women should come forward to check spread of these and bring ‘unconscious’ Odias to the right path so that the self-respect of Odisha can be protected.
Swain felicitated Tripathy on the occasion for her outstanding performance against women violence.
Tripathy vowed to continue her fight against women violence and protect Odia language, culture and traditions. She called upon all women to support in her mission.
She announced to expedite the women membership drive from the coming International Women Day on March 8.
While lawyer Sushree Swati and social activist Aaruna Kumar Swain coordinated the programme, functionaries like Debasrita Mohanty, Amita Das, Radharani Behera, Sasmita Behera, Rita Saha and Usha Nayar were present.
