Hazaribagh Municipal Corporation starts a special cleanliness drive in the town area which will go on till 10th December 2016. On day 1 ward 3,4&5 were cleaned by the team constituted by Municipal Corporation. Mayor Anjali Kumari and SDO Sashiranjan inaugurated the drive cum awareness campaign from Indrapuri Chowk of the town. On this occasion the theme song of cleanliness drive launched by Government of India was played and oath was given to the denizens.
In this inaugural program the volunteers of national service scheme of different colleges and artists who played small Nukkad Nataks worked in sensitizing the general people about the importance of cleanliness. Many ward councilors and officials of both Municipal Corporation and district administration also participated actively in making the people aware about the drive.
The Municipal Corporation has constituted special teams to complete the drive successfully. Dress, equipments etc. has been provided to the workers engaged in this special drive. To keep eye on the work going on in different wards officials and staffs have been deputed.
Speaking on the occasion SDO Sashiranjan said that keeping the town clean is the duty of every citizen and everyone will have to be cautious that no one can harm the beauty of the city. He advised everyone to collect the garbage of their household and to give it to the assigned NGO of their area. Throwing the garbage hither and thither is a bad practice and everyone should avoid this practice.
Mayor Anjali Kumari said that this drive will go on till 10th of December and everyday 2-3 wards will be cleaned by the special team. The ward councilors are actively taking part in this drive and we are hopeful that some good result will come through this drive.
Executive officer of Municipal Corporation Ashish Kumar said that from 4th of January 2017 government is going to launch a special survey of the towns keeping in view the cleanliness drive started by PM Narendra Modi. Through this special drive we are aiming to get the target before the start of that survey and we solicit active participation of every citizen of this town.
In the evening in a function MP cum MoS Jayant Sinha praised the effort of Mayor Anjali Kumari and her team and said that this effort will certainly make the denizens proud in the coming survey to be started by state government.
