The State Finance Minister and a senior Congress leader Indira Hridyesh has strongly criticised Congress MlA Furkan Ahmed for his coming into the defence of the dreaded criminal Nazim Salmani whom he called a reformed man. “The political leaders should refrain from such comments which send wrong messages to the society,” said the Minister who is in charge of Haridwar district on the sidelines of the inauguration of Rajkiya Mahavidyalaya in laksar and Chudiyala village.
Quizzed by the media persons over the issue, she quipped, “Nobody in politics should defend criminals. There is no place for criminals in politics.”
Notably, Furkan Ahmed had hogged the media glare when he said that the name of Nazim should be struck off the list of the criminals, given the fact that he had reformed himself by going on Haj pilgrimage.
