Brief light showers were witnessed in the afternoon after partial clouding which made the weather conditions little comforting and as soon as the cloud cover faded away hot and humid conditions prevailed on Friday.
Cloud cover was witnessed in the morning making the weather pleasant but the hot weather conditions remained. The cloud cover is due to south westerly winds and moisture incursion from Arabian Sea. City recorded day temperature at 41.4 degree celsius while the night temperature was recorded at 25.5 degree celsius.
Among the major cities Gwalior recorded the highest day temperature at 43.3 degree celsius on Friday. Indore recorded day temperature at 41.5 degree celsius and Jabalpur recorded day temperature at 41.9 degree celsius.
According to the forecast, partial clouding would be witnessed in the afternoon with light showers at isolated places. The temperatures would not witness significant change in the next 24 hours but the temperatures would witnessed increase in the next 3-4 days after the weather conditions would attain normal pattern.
In the next 24 hours dust storms and thunder showers are likely to be witnessed at isolated places over Vidisha, Raisen, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Hoshangabad and Betul districts.
Warning of heat waves conditions in the next 24 hours were issued by the Met department and the places likely to witness heat wave conditions are Ujjain, Gwalior divisions and Chattarpur and Satna districts.
The day temperatures would be recorded above 40 degree celsius in the next 24 hours. The night temperature would be recorded around 26 degree celsius on Saturday.
