Sunday morning was special for 100 specially-abled children Divayangs who took part in a mini marathon organised with the aim of creating awareness on equality by grouping of several institutes of social sector.
The Mini Marathon for Divayang started from Ravindra Bhavan and also culminated at the same point after passing through the city.
Hundred children from special schools participated in the 4-km mini marathon on Sunday morning.
In the seven-day event different kinds of competitions would be held. Competitions of poster making be in character and photography and the results would be declared after seven days on website of Uddip organisation.
More than 1000 participants took part in the mini marathon. The participating youths dedicated towards change in the attitude of the society towards Divanyangs was significant.
ADG Jail Sushobhan Banerjee flagged off the mini marathon. later Dileep Suryavanshi, Chief Guest AS Singhdev and Banerjee presented the prize to the winners.

Poonam Shroti who suffers from disorder in which bones become fragile due to stunted growth — Osteogenesis Imperfecta is an inspiring example for Divanyangs. She had completed double MBA and after great difficulties she got job and worked hard for equality towards her and people like her in the society.
Poonam Shotriya, who was recently awarded by President Pranab Mukherjee as 100 women achievers of the country selected by Union Ministry of Women and Child Development along with Facebook, claimed that Divayang don't want any special treatment, but want people to have sense of equality towards them and understanding them will be a major achievement.
The marathon is sponsored by social worker Dileep Suryawanshi and Sports Promotion Group Chairman Aruneshwar Singhdeo.
