With possible commencement of separate channel of Raipur Doordarshan Centre, live broadcast of Chhattisgarh Assembly’s proceedings could be carried out in near future’, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal said on Sunday.
Chief Minister Raman Singh is taking keen interest for making Raipur Doordarshan Centre a ‘multi-channel’ Centre. The Speaker was addressing the media at a Press conference ahead of the State budget session starting from March 1 here.
He further elaborated that since 2005, the Chhattisgarh Assembly has started broadcast of ‘Question Hour’ proceedings and its recording is being telecast by Raipur Doordarshan Centre during evening hours.
Highlighting the efforts underway to make Chhattisgarh Assembly ‘paperless’, Agrawal said “initially, we are starting with ‘less-paper move’ as it is not possible to install all hardware required to go completely ‘paperless’ in existing space at the State Assembly. Due to limited space in the hall, existing furniture cannot be changed.”
