Upset over the alleged slipshod probe by the SIT of the Crime Branch in sensational quadruple suicide of Paralakhemundi Maharaja Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deb’s manager Ananga Manjari Patra and her three siblings, relatives of the deceased on Tuesday moved the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) seeking a speedier investigation.
Ananga’s brother, two sisters and brother-in-laws knocked the OHRC door here and alleged the investigation is going at a very slow pace. They urged the commission to direct the agency to expedite the probe process and ensue early justice.
The Special Investigation Agency (SIT) of the Crime Branch is investigating into the deaths of the four siblings.
Notably, body of Ananga and her two other siblings, Bijaylaxmi Patra and Sanjay Patra, were recovered from her Jangam Sahi residence in Paralakhemundi on August 21. Another brother, Santosh, was rescued from the house, where he was found lying on the floor in a critical condition died at MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Brahmapur on the following day.
Besides examining the suicide notes, the SIT has recorded the statements of several persons in this connection.
