Because of King Kharavela, consciousness on Mahabharata in Odisha is richer and clearer than that of other States, said Itihas Sankalan Samiti national vice-president Prof (Dr) Narayan Rao here on Sunday.
Addressing the fifth State-level celebration of the Itihas Divas, Dr Rao spoke on the works and achievements of Kharavela. “King Kharavela has created a unique tradition by creating national unity in the Indian history. And he will be remembered forever for this,” Dr Rao.
Former Professor of the Utkal University Dr Himanshu Sekhar Pattnaik joined the function as chief guest and shared his ideas on Odisha’s glory. Samiti State president Dr Dadhibaman Mishra spoke about the foundation and vision of the Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana.
Former Utkal University of Culture Vice-Chancellor Narendra Mishra along with many noted historians and researchers attended the event. Samiti State branch general secretary Gopala Prasad Mahapatra monitored the programme.
