District Judge of Gorakhpur, C K Kulshreshth suffered injuries when Kanwariyas attacked his car near Kaptanganj area of Basti on the Basti-Fizabad national highway on Saturday evening. He was later taken to a hospital and the police was informed of the incident.
As per reports, Kanwariyas had a tiff with the driver of the Judge’s car after which they violently retaliated and attacked the car. In the process, while the Judge suffered injuries, the car was badly damaged.
Upon learning of the incident, DM of Basti Narendra Singh Patel and SP Kripa Shankar Singh rushed to the spot along with heavy police force. The SP later told media persons that the District Judge suffered injuries after a shard of glass broken from the car hit him and that nobody attacked him.
Sources said that Judge Kulshreshth was referred to Basti district hospital but he left for lucknow for further treatment.
