Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday demanded immediate arrest of senior Akali leader and Punjab Agro Industries Corporation chairman Dyal Singh Kolianwali after the state Vigilance Bureau nabbed his close aide and Akali councilor Sham lal Daddi in a multi crore job scam.
“Mere arrest of Akali councilor Daddi would mean nothing if the kingpin of the entire job scam Kolianwali is roaming scot free,” said AAP MP from Sangrur Bhagwant Mann. “Daddi could not have run the entire job racket on his own and without the backing and support of Kolianwali. Unless Kolianwali is arrested and made to join the investigations, the ongoing probe by the vigilance bureau would not go too far and bring the actual culprits to justice,” added Mann.
He added that Daddi is just a front man of Kolianwali who sold Government jobs in PUNSUP, local Government, PUDA and several other departments where incumbents had to pay up to `30 lakh each to get the job. He added that a probe “under the supervision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court can only bring the real culprits of the job scam to the forefront so that they could be punished as per law ”.
