Jayshree Chemical School emerged champion of the Bijay Rathod Memorial Ganjam District Inter-School Cricket Tournament, defeating DAV Public School by 13 runs in the final at Berhampur Stadium on Sunday. Winning the toss Jayashree elected to bat first, Amresh Acharya’s 33-balls 30 and Amaln Kumar Mishra’s 28-balls 23 guided the team to 127 for 9 in 20 overs. Sritam Sankar Padhy and Gautam sankar Mohapatra were the most successful bowlers for DAV School by picking three and two wickets respectively. In replay, Soumaya Ranjan Panda of Jayshree school scalped three wickets by giving 18 runs restricted DAV Public School 115 for 7 in 20 overs. Ansuman Samanta of the champion team and Sritam Sankar Padhi of runner up team received the best batsman and best bowler award respectively. Ganjam District Sports Officer Akshaya Pattnaik gave awy the prizes as the chief guest of the closing ceremony in presence of WV Raja, Sibananda Sadangi, Pradeep Panda and laxmi Behera.
