Uttarakhand is witnessing an abrupt increase in number of patients with heart diseases and large numbers of young people in the State are being diagnosed with heart diseases, opined the experts during a CME held at the Mahant Indiresh hospital on the occasion of World Heart day on Thursday. The topic of the CME was “India is the World Capital for Heart diseases and Diabetes”.
Addressing the gathering at the occasion, Principal Dr. N.K. Singh said that unhealthy life-style, lack of physical work and genetic reasons are responsible for abrupt increase in heart diseases. “The heart diseases have turned out to be more deadly and severe in the recent years, but fortunately, the Medical Sciences has invented advanced techniques to cope up with these diseases. These modern techniques have made the treatment of heart diseases easy,’’ he said.
Senior Cardiologist, Dr. Tanuj Bhatia in his address explained how the emergency doctors and staff members can provide instant life-support in cases of patients having heart attack or cardiac arrest.
“This is very concerning that in the hill state of Uttarakhand which is blessed with clean air and abundant natural resources the heart related ailment are on rise. This is a common notion that heart diseases attack a person after the age of 50 or 60 years, but in today’s scenario this has been proved to be totally wrong. World over, advanced researches are being conducted in the discipline of Cardiology, and most advanced medicines are being made available. The patients can be helped with primary Angiography if they are well aware about the heart diseases,’’ he said.
The CME was attended by the large number of doctors and medical students.
