A scheduled date of completion of the Chheligarh Dam Project relating to power generation has not been finalised because of the stay order of the Orissa High Court, informed Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Das in the State Assembly on Tuesday.
Replying to a question of BJP MlA KV Singh Deo, the Minister said, as per the information received from the Water Resources Department, the project
work has been taken up since 2003 with the help of AIBP scheme.
The land acquisition along with rehabilitation and tesettlement of the displaced is going on and the Stage II clearance for the acquisition of the forest land is in progress.
Similarly, drawing and design of the tunnel has been approved by the CWC and the design work of the Dam Spillway is under process, the Minister said.
Three numbers of cascading Small Hydro Electric Projects have been identified in the downstream of the Chheiigarh project, the Minister added.
