Haryana Government has decided to open “Satkar Bhojanalaya” in every town so as to provide quality food to the people at subsidised rates in the State.
The Chief Minister, who was presiding over a meeting of Food and Supplies Department said that similar bhojanalaya have also been opened in Kurukshetra with the support of Kurukshetra Development Board and a Non-Government Organisation.
“The State Government wants to replicate the same model in every town in the state’, he added.
He said that there are several charitable Trusts or NGOs who are ready to open and operate such affordable restaurants where quality food items would be served at economical rates. Food and Supplies Department would ensure to provide wheat to such Trusts or NGOs on subsidised rates, he said.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister asked the officers to formulate a scheme in this direction in consultation with the Department concerned so that such eating points could be made functional atleast in half of the State before November 1, 2016, the day Haryana would enter into its golden jubilee year.
