Haryana HC declines relief to Gujjar in scribe suicide case

Declining relief to the former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Ram Kishan Gujjar in the matter of suicide by a Naraingarh based journalist, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday dismissed his petition challenging summoning orders of an Ambala Court. Naraingarh based journalist Pankaj Khanna had committed suicide on June 10, 2009 by consuming poison. In his suicide note, he had blamed the then MlA, and two other businessmen Ajit Aggarwal and Vijay Aggarwal for allegedly forcing him to take the extreme step. Soon after his death,Khanna’s relatives had blocked the State highway demanding registration of a case against the then MlA and others. A case was registered on the complaint of Yash Pal Khanna, father of the deceased on June 11, 2009. In his petition in High Court, Gujjar had earlier claimed that he was being falsely dragged in the case. In an earlier petition, Gujjar’s counsel had claimed “In the final report submitted by the police under Section 173 CrPC, the petitioner was kept in column number two as he was found innocent and the allegation levied against the petitioner were found to be baseless.
