Harsimrat Kaur lauds Rail Minister Prabhu for highest outlay

After giving railway Budget outlay for Punjab, highest in last 10 years in the last fiscal year, the NDA Government has continued its spree of showering Punjab with the best of projects in quality and quantity, said the Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Sunday while thanking the Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu for giving for Bathinda and Mansa region a railway over bridge (ROB) and 13 subways during the recent railway Budget.

In a press statement, the Union Minister stated that the railway ministry has given nod to railway over bridge (ROB) on Bhai Bakhtaur village railway crossing on Mansa road on the Delhi-Bathinda railway track. This ROB over the Bhawanigarh-Bhikhi-Kotshamir Road will bring the much needed respite for commuters on this stretch and add to the feather of best infrastructure in state.

She added that besides the ROB, railway ministry has also approved 13 subways for the level crossings in Bathinda district. The Union Minister said that the two railway crossings located on Shergarh-Bathinda Road will get a subway.

Unmanned railway crossing on Katar Singh Wala – Bathinda cantonment road , two on Maur-Maiserkhana road and Kotfatta Katar Singh Wala road too will have subway. Two subways will also come up on Sirsa bypass.

Apart from Bathinda, district Mansa too has got subways on major railway crossings. All the five railway crossings on near Ahmedpur village on Budhlada-Narinderpura Road in district Mansa  will have subways, she informed.

last year, the Union Ministry for Railways created a records of sorts by sanctioning budget outlay of the Rs 1059 crore budget for Punjab in the year 2015-16. In the year 2008-09 Rs 185.35 cr were sanctioned for Punjab, which hovered at Rs 163.25 cr in year 2009-10, Rs 318.76 cr in year 2010-11,  Rs 245.6 cr in year 2011-12, Rs 159.4 cr in year 2012-13 and mere Rs 236.88 cr in year 2013-14 during the Congress led UPA regime.
