G'pati woman's headless body recovered

The police recovered a married woman's headless body near a canal of Dhoba Jayapur village under Kashinagar block in Gajapati districton Wednesday.

The police were not able to recover the head and sent the body to a hospital at Brahmapur for higher level FMT investigation.

The victim's husband, Satyam Pariala (30) and father-in-law, Shrinibas Rao (60) were arrested and forwarded to the Gunupur SDJM Court on the allegation of killing the deceased, informed Gunupur Police Station IIC Nirmal Panigrahi.

Notably, P Satyam of Dhoba Jayapur village married Pushpanjali of Rayagada district in April, 2015. She was allegedly tortured by her in-laws for dowry.

The couple had gone to Coimbatore in July in search of work. When they were returning to their home, Pushpanjali went missing from the Coimbatore railway station. Her parents had also lodged a missing report at the Rayagada SP office.
